Carevia · The Noticing Hub™ Membership

Your team cannot respond to what they do not notice.

A practical way of working that develops professional curiosity, strengthens everyday judgement and connects learning to assurance.

Most serious learning does not begin with a policy failure. It begins with something that was seen but not recognised, recorded but not escalated, or accepted without being explored. The Noticing Hub™ gives registered managers practical tools to change those moments, while RAOF™ helps them test whether the expected improvement is actually visible in records, conversations and practice.

The missed opportunity

The information was there. The significance was missed.

Professional curiosity is not about mistrusting staff or searching for blame. It is the habit of looking beyond the first reassuring answer and asking whether the full picture makes sense. Without a shared structure, important details can remain separate and the service can mistake a response for learning.

A medication is marked “out of stock”. The system holds the omission, but nobody holds the action.

Someone falls. Staff respond correctly after the event, but nobody explores what changed during the hours before it.

A care plan describes how distress presents, yet the staff member supporting the person cannot recognise those signs in practice.

Handover says “nothing to report”, even though the person was quieter, ate less and needed more support than usual.

The question The Noticing Hub™ keeps alive

What will we notice sooner next time?

Two Carevia frameworks · one connected approach

The Noticing Model™ brings practice into view. RAOF™ tests the assurance.

The two frameworks do different jobs. The Noticing Model™ supports attention, judgement, communication and learning in everyday care. RAOF™ supports leaders to test whether the evidence reflects what people understand and what actually happens. Together, they create a route from an everyday observation to verified improvement.

Practice and culture

The Noticing Model™

Helps teams develop a shared habit for detecting what matters, recognising significance and carrying learning through rather than allowing it to stop at the first response.

Notice Recognise Respond Report Reflect
Assurance and oversight

RAOF™

Helps managers move beyond receiving information and test whether records, people’s accounts and observed practice provide consistent assurance.

Read Ask Observe Feedforward

The Hub helps staff and managers notice. RAOF™ helps leaders verify. SMART-TE™ helps the service follow improvement through until it has been tested and embedded.

The public stages explain the principle. The implementation method, coaching structure, premium prompts and complete practice resources remain within the licensed membership.
From an observation to a sustained change

One connected learning and assurance journey.

The value is not one isolated worksheet. It is the way the tools help a service carry learning from the first concern into action, testing and everyday practice.

1

Something is noticed

A change, contradiction, risk, strength or opportunity becomes visible.

2

Significance is explored

The team looks beyond the surface answer and considers what it might mean.

3

Learning is captured

A handover, supervision, card, scenario or review turns the moment into shared learning.

4

Action is owned

A service-level SMART-TE™ action has a clear owner, date and measure of success.

5

Change is tested

RAOF™ helps the manager check whether the improvement is visible and sustained.

Inside The Noticing Hub™

Practical tools for the conversations and decisions that shape care.

The Hub is designed as a working membership area, not a folder of disconnected downloads. Tools can be used individually, while sharing a common language and route into service improvement.

Everyday practice and learning

Help teams notice what routine can hide

Use realistic situations, reflective prompts and practice reviews to strengthen attention before “normal” becomes reassuring.

  • The Noticing Scenarios™ for realistic practice-based learning
  • The Noticing Cards™ for incidents, near misses and wider learning moments
  • The Noticing Handover™ for stronger shift communication
  • The Noticing Care Plan™ for comparing written guidance with staff understanding and practice
  • The Noticing Walkaround™ for structured observation of people’s lived experience
Workforce and culture

Build curiosity into how people are led

Bring the model into supervision, recruitment and culture so professional curiosity becomes a shared expectation rather than one manager’s instinct.

  • The Noticing Supervision™ with individual and service-level follow-through
  • The Noticing Interview™ for values-led recruitment and evidence-based judgement
  • The Noticing Culture™ for exploring patterns, behaviours and closed-culture risk
  • Role-specific job descriptions and implementation resources
  • Private individual records kept separate from the shared service action plan
Governance and follow-through

Turn learning into accountable improvement

Connect what has been noticed with policy review, service action and assurance so the learning does not disappear when the conversation ends.

  • The Noticing Policy Review™ for testing whether policies are understood and usable
  • An editable Policy and Procedure Library
  • The editable Noticing Model™ Policy and Procedure
  • SMART-TE™ Service Action Plan for actions generated across the tools
  • Portable records and service-level action transfer into Carevia assurance tools
Learning and implementation

Support managers to introduce it properly

A model only changes practice when people understand how to use it. The Academy and implementation resources help services move beyond a launch email.

  • The Noticing Model™ Foundation
  • Training for Handover, Supervision and Cards
  • Expanded Quick Start Guides for available tools
  • A practical implementation guide and Start Here pathway
  • New and revised resources added as the programme develops

Why a service would buy it

Not more paperwork. Better questions, clearer learning and stronger follow-through.

The Hub gives managers a structured way to address the gaps that ordinary policies, audits and incident forms do not solve on their own.

Earlier recognition

Help staff connect small changes and inconsistencies with their possible significance before risk escalates.

More useful handovers

Move beyond tasks completed and “nothing to report” so the next shift understands what may matter.

Deeper incident learning

Explore what was noticed before, during and after an event rather than closing learning at “staff followed policy”.

Stronger care-plan practice

Test whether staff can recognise and respond to the person described in the plan, not merely find the document.

A shared coaching language

Give managers and staff a consistent structure for supervision, reflection, recruitment and team conversations.

Assurance that follows through

Connect service learning to owned actions, RAOF™ testing and evidence that improvement has become normal practice.

Who the membership is for

For services that want professional curiosity to become part of how they work.

Registered managers

Managers who want a practical structure for coaching staff, reviewing learning and knowing what questions to ask next.

New and developing managers

Leaders discovering the challenges that no induction manual fully prepares them for, from deterioration and medicines to culture and investigations.

Services seeing repeat themes

Teams where incidents are recorded and policies are followed, but the same risks, weak notes or missed escalations continue to return.

Quality-focused providers

Organisations that want a consistent, licensed approach across registered locations rather than different managers inventing separate methods.

Questions services are likely to ask.

Is The Noticing Hub™ another audit system?

No. The Hub develops attention, judgement, reflective learning and professional curiosity across everyday care and leadership. Some tools create governance records and service actions, but the purpose is to improve how people notice, think, communicate and learn.

How does The Noticing Model™ differ from RAOF™?

The Noticing Model™ helps teams detect what matters and carry it through to learning. RAOF™ helps managers and leaders test whether what is written, understood and observed provides consistent assurance. They are designed to work together and both are supported within this membership.

Does membership include Carevia Pro+?

Yes. The £99.99 monthly membership includes everything in Carevia Pro+ for the licensed location, alongside the full Noticing Hub™ programme and its growing toolset.

Can one membership be shared across several registered locations?

No. Membership is licensed per CQC-registered location. If your organisation operates two or more registered locations, email info@carevia.co.uk for a provider licence. This protects fair use, supports appropriate onboarding and ensures each service has the correct access.

Does the Hub replace policies, clinical judgement or statutory guidance?

No. The tools support reflection, learning, leadership and assurance. They do not replace professional judgement, provider procedures, clinical advice, safeguarding duties or official regulatory guidance.

Will all of the underlying methodology be published publicly?

No. The public five-stage model explains the principle. The detailed implementation method, premium prompts, training, scenarios, coaching structure and interactive tools are licensed membership content and remain Carevia intellectual property.

Can we print or adapt the resources for our service?

Authorised internal use, completion and reasonable service-specific customisation are permitted within the licensed location. Copying for unlicensed locations, redistribution, resale, public publication and derivative or competing commercial use are prohibited.

Ready to make noticing part of practice?

What your service notices today can change what happens tomorrow.

Give managers and teams a practical shared language for professional curiosity, then connect what they learn to action and assurance.
